Indiana University statement on passing of former Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie has issued the following statement on Bill Hudnut, the former mayor of Indianapolis, who has passed away at the age of 84:

"Former Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut was a remarkable, energetic and spirited steward of Indianapolis who oversaw a period of dynamic expansion in the city, which included the development and sustained growth of the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis campus. While Indiana University mourns his passing, we are deeply grateful for his legacy as one of Indiana's most transformative leaders."
